For those geeks out there curious about the technology behind our fresh, tasty blog, we use Movable Type 3. I also use MT to power my photoblog. The platform uses basic HTML with some proprietary tags mixed in. It’s a bit difficult to customize, but once you get it configured it runs great. MT is a nice alternative to public services like blogger if you require a higher level of customization.
We wanted to turn on comments when we started the blog, but comment spam is ridiculous. I finally found a decent spam filter. Now you are free to add your wonderful comments to our scintillating blog posts. We use a mechanism that requires you to validate two words displayed on the screen. If you cannot make out the words, just hit the recycle button to the right.
Some other enhancements were made, like entry tagging and a search function. We hope you enjoy the changes.
