This holiday season has been a real treat for the Baca family. Thank you to Ellis and Baca families for making Christmas day so special for Maggie. Thanks also to Marissa and John for hosting the family on 12/26. We had a great time as always.

We wish you and yours a safe and happy New Year. See you in 2010!

We had a wonderful (and overfed) holiday this year. Debra and I decided to exchanged gifts on Christmas Eve morning. I went the gadget route and got her a Flip Mino HD. When you’re the parent of a three-month old, you can never take enough video. Her gift to me was more special. A few years back I bought a his-and-her’s pair of Schwinn Suburban bicycles (circa 1972). I’d always meant to restore them, but they ultimately were left to rust on the side yard. Debra had them refurbished! She gave them to me along with a bike trailer for Maggie. We took a ride that morning and Maggie loved it.

Christmas Eve was spent at Terri’s with the Ellis family. The new babies (Xavier and Maggie) were the hit of the party. The girls were adorable, Belize in her new princess outfit and Kaitlyn in her knit hat and mittens.

We joined my family on Christmas morning. Maggie got a load of fun stuff. We can’t wait to try out the baby signing book from Christa.

2008 was a wonderful year for the Baca family. After getting engaged in November of 2007, Debra and I wed on March 25 March 15. It meant so much to us to spend such a special day with our family and friends.

We honeymooned at an eco-lodge in Nicaragua called Morgan’s Rock. The lodge is in a preserve on the Pacific coast of Nicaragua. It was the perfect honeymoon for a perfect wedding. This was the view from our cliff side bungalow.

Of course we found out just over a month before the wedding that we were expecting a little Baca. I think Debra’s exact response was, “Oh my god!”. We were so excited. Of course this meant the month or so leading up to the wedding would be spent with stressful wedding/honeymoon planning AND morning sickness! Debra handled it like a pro.

Our summer was spent nesting and getting ready for the new arrival. Of course, like her mother, the baby had to take the road less traveled. She was born 3 weeks early, through 37 hours of labor, breech and without anesthesia! Maggie (Margaret Grace) was born September 27 at 12:03A. She was truly a dream come true.

Maggie is now 3 months old and more beautiful every day. She started out small, but is now growing like a weed. She’s built up quite a vocabulary of babbles and has been known to roll herself over on occasion. Oh, and she’s rather photogenic….

We’re hoping to travel to California this Spring to visit the Baca clan and introduce everyone to the newest Baca. Likewise we’re looking forward to introducing Maggie to everyone at the Sinclair Family Reunion this May. Until then we want to wish all of our family and friends a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
